I am a highlight qualified senior executive with 20 years of experience. I hold a doctorate and two masters degrees. My career has seen me work for a range of companies in the FMCG, banking, logistics, retail and service industries. My focus has been on strategic execution, with a strong focus on operations, as well as the turnaround and refocusing of business units and companies. Companies often hire me to initiate change or to act as a catalyst for a strategic renewal. I am currently CEO of a services company and am having a huge amount of fun building it into Africa's premier facilities management company. I have held numerous C-level positions including CEO, Managing Director, COO, CIO and operations director. I have served, and continue to serve, on boards in both executive and non-executive positions for private and public sector companies. My business goal is to leave a legacy at the company's I work for. In addition to my business career, I also have an active academic career. I am a research associate at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore as well as serving on the faculty board of the department of industrial engineering and systems at the University of Pretoria. My current research interests are technology adoption, financial inclusion and low cost banking. Several authored papers have been accepted for publication in peer reviewed journals, and I have presented and been an invited guest speaker at international conferences in these fields.
